Slovake.eu is now available in Czech too! On August 26th, 1992, an agreement on the dissolution of Czechoslovakia was subscribed in the Tugendhat villa in Brno by prime ministers Václav Klaus and Vladimír Mečiar. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this Velvet Divorce, the Slovake.eu website has been translated into Czech - so that also Czechs may now start learning Slovak in their own language. The website is now available in eight languages.

The word "príštipkár" signifies an amateur manufacturer of a product, "dedo" isn´t only a grandfather, but it has four meanings more. Visit new Internet Encyclopedia about the traditional Slovak culture. There you can find the explanation of words whose meaning even the Slovaks don´t know more, though they are already used since the Middle Ages in Slovakia. The joint project was published by SĽUK (The Slovakian Folkensemble Choir) and The Institute for Ethnology of The Slovak Academy of the Sciences in July 2011.
