Did you know that... ?
Ján Jessenius (* 1566 – † 1621) was a Slovak doctor, politician, philosopher and author of scientific documents. From 1600 he gave lectures in the Charles University in Prague, where he performed the first public dissection of a human body in the Czech countries. The asteroid 11830 Jessenius, discovered in 1984, was named after him.
